I complain a lot about work. It is crazy because I love my job but between travel, more work, oh, and more travel, it makes the desire to log in at 11pm to write a blog difficult. But I promise I am determined to catch up, so, here is lasts weeks review of what happened in my life…all week, in one post.
So, this is how the week ended. An arrival of these beauties, no introduction necessary. They fit like a glove and started the weekend off right.
I then made a red pepper and Serrano aoli for my gluten-free chicken nuggets. Ok, so I added red pepper and Serrano sauce to mayo, but it was amazing and continued my weekend flow.
Saturday morning however, left me sitting in an airport grumbling about flying on my weekend. I did find a remedy for my self-pity however…Cereality.
Who knew all it took was a mix of CoCo Puffs and Lucky Charms to brighten your day?
The week continued on with early mornings…we are talking 3 am…and long nights. By Monday evening after a long hike through MIA arriving at GSO at 9pm I hauled my luggage to the rental car. Halfway there, through tears and tiredness, I crushed my hand in my luggage. (See blue/green tint below) Needless to say, I was ready for a new day.
By the time Thursday came around I was ready to get home and eager for a weekend break before heading off again Sunday. The weekend didn’t disappoint.
I woke up Saturday for my weekly farmer’s market run and a torta from Dai Due. I didn’t get to purchase much since I was only in town for one more day, so I enjoyed my breakfast and headed off to take 5 or 6 inches off my hair.
That c loss of weight (hair weight) only validated a hearty lunch and some movies on demand for the afternoon. I stopped in a Puccia’s, a local trailer next to my condo. It is an Italian Grilled Sandwich establishment, that has had me craving them ever since. This was called the standard I believe…I could be wrong…but it is prosciutto, mozzarella, and arugula topped with chipotle aoli, but the kicker, was the garlic butter dripping from the bread….Sinnfully delicious.
Another key item to note, which i learned from other patrons ordering from Puccia’s is that Zapps are not all over the country. So if you haven’t had this Cajun treat, check them out, they can’t be beat.
So how do you end a weekend this good you ask? I’ll show you.
Cheers.
